ASEAN Finalists, Judging Process and Presentation Guidelines
Twelve outstanding projects from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam have advanced from their respective Country Awards to become finalists in the Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026.
Under the theme "Shaping Resilient Futures: Timeless Design with Coated Steel", finalists will present their projects to the ASEAN Judging Panel before the ASEAN winners are announced at the Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026 Ceremony in Bangkok.

ASEAN Judging Criteria
Projects will be assessed across three key pillars.
Design Excellence (50%)
Design Concept & Clarity: Clarity and coherence of architectural concept, Translation of design intent into built form, and Timeless Design with Coated Steel
Contextual Responsiveness: Response to environmental, cultural and urban context, and Contribution to its surroundings
Versatile and Technical Resolution: Quality of material selection and technical execution, and Buildability, detailing and system integration
Innovation (30%)
Functional Use of Coated Steel: Performance and versatility of coated steel applications
Technical Ingenuity & Detailing: Creative and practical technical solutions
Performance-Driven Steel Design: Durability, resilience and future readiness
Sustainability (20%)
Energy Efficient Design Strategies: Passive and active environmental performance measures
Climate Responsive Architecture: Response to local climate and environmental conditions
Material Durability and Lifecycle Performance: Long-term material value and lifecycle considerations

Submission Requirements
Presentation (Mandatory)
Microsoft PowerPoint file (PPT) in English, minimum 15 slides and maximum 30 slides, for a 10-minute presentation (followed by 15-minute Q&A session).
Presentation must include the design objective, initial concept, project requirements, architectural drawings and real project images.
One-page summary addressing the three main criteria: Design Excellence, Innovation and Sustainability.
Architectural drawings including Site plan, Floor plan, Section, Coated Steel construction details (e.g. Envelope / Cladding Details)
Real project images including Overall exterior view: Showing the overall building form. Application location of BlueScope steel solutions: Clearly showing where and how the coated steel is used. Image authenticity requirement: No AI-generated or AI-retouched images are permitted and only basic colour correction or brightness adjustment is acceptable
One page describing where BlueScope products are used, including brand, area (m²), colour and application.
File size must not exceed 500 MB/file.
The finalist can choose to embed a supporting video in the PPT file; However, showing video as a part of the presentation is not a requirement.
Optional: Finalists may pre-record their 10-minute presentation in their native language with English subtitles and show the pre-recording in lieu of a live presentation on the presentation date. VDO file for that purpose should be in MP4 with size not exceeding 100 MB/file.
Project board (Mandatory)
Two A1-sized project boards in portrait format (landscape allowed) layout, 593 x 841 mm, 300 dpi project board with collages of drawings, floor plan and project images and description of BlueScope’s product and detail, using font Helvetica size 120 px (recommended for readable) or no more than 600 words
The finalist will use the Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026 A1 template
Must be PDF and Ai or PSD files 300 dpi with link file and font embedded.
Photos (Mandatory)
Real images, minimum 10 and maximum 30 images including at least two (2) images that showcase the location(s) where BlueScope coated steel are installed (such as roof or wall cladding areas).
Photo file in JPEG format, of size more than 300 dpi but not exceeding 10 MB/each.
Project Owner Consent form (Mandatory)
BlueScope’s form with Project Owners’ signature before submission date (Country Award)
VDO project showcase (Optional)
Project VDO showcase up to 10 minutes
VDO file in MP4 or MPEG-4 of size not exceeding 500 MB/file.
