BlueScope Steel Architectural Awards 2024 ASEAN : Term of Reference for Finalists

ASEAN Award Judging Criteria

1. 50% Design Excellence : Demonstrating aesthetics, promoting efficiency

2. 30% Innovation : Innovative and creative usage of steel in expressing the design identity, and/or achieve the functionality

3. 20% Sustainability :  Demonstrating the design attributes to support energy-saving, water conservation, waste reduction and recycling, and carbon efficiency. Advancing community-building & humanity

ASEAN Award Material for Submission

1. Presentation for the presentation day (Mandatory)

1. Microsoft PowerPoint file (PPT) in English, minimum 10 slides and maximum 20 slides, for a 10 minutes presentation (followed by 10 minutes Q&A)

2. Presentation must content design objective, initial concept, project requirement, where BlueScope coated steel are installed, collages of drawings, floor plan which relate to the 3 criteria designs: design excellence, innovation and sustainability

3. The finalist can choose to embed a supporting video in the PPT file; However, showing video as a part of the presentation is not a requirement

4. File size must not exceed 500 MB/file

5. Optional: The finalist can opt to pre-record the 10 minutes presentation in her/his native language with English subtitle, and show the pre-recording in lieu of a live presentation on the presentation date. VDO file for that purpose should be in MPG4 with size not exceeding 100 MB/file

2. Project board for judge’s pre-read (Mandatory)

1. 2 of A1-sized in Portrait layout, 593 x 841 mm, 150 pdi project board with collages of drawings, floor plan and project images and description of no more than 600 words. The finalist will use the BlueScope’s template

2. Ai or PSD file size must not exceed 500 MB/file WITH LINK FILE AND FONT EMBEDDED

3.Photos of the project for judge’s pre-read (Mandatory)

1. Minimum 3 and maximum 10 images including at least two (2) photographs that showcase the location(s) where BlueScope coated steel are installed (such as roof or wall cladding areas)

2. Photo file in JPEG format, of size more than 300dpi but not exceeding 10 MB/each

4.Owner Consent letter (Mandatory)

1. In BlueScope’s form

5. VDO project showcase for judge’s pre-read (Optional)

1. Project VDO showcase

2. VDO file in MPG4, of size not exceeding 500 MB/file

All ASEAN Finalists could upload to the google drive, the link will be send to all ASEAN Finalists via email

Deadline by 19 October 2024, before 17:00 MY/SG Time, 

Presentation day via Zoom meeting

1. Each finalist will have 20 minutes

2. Presentation 10 minutes

3. Judges ask question and finalist answer 10 minutes

4. Present in English and could be anyone who involve in the project ie. architect senior, architect junior, consult, project owners including the interpreter (finalist prepare)
