Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026 Officially Launched in Jakarta

The Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026 has officially commenced following a dynamic regional symposium held on 27 November 2025 in Jakarta. Bringing together around 190 architects, design leaders, partners, and industry representatives from across Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam the launch marked a strong regional commitment to timeless design with coated steel.

Under the theme “Shaping Resilient Futures: Timeless Design with Coated Steel,” the 2026 program aims to elevate architectural excellence across Southeast Asia by recognising built projects that showcase aesthetic integrity, durability, and design innovation with BlueScope’s steel solutions.

Distinguished ASEAN-Level Judging Panel

A panel of respected leaders from five countries will evaluate ASEAN finalist projects and determine the 2026 winners:

  2. Ar. Firman Setia Herwanto, Vice President of IAI (Indonesia)

  3. Ar. Dr. Truong Nguyen Hoang Long, Head of Division of Environment and Sustainable Design, UAH (Vietnam)

  4. Ar. Dr. Serina Hijjas, Principal, Hijjas Kasturi Associates (Malaysia)

  5. Ar. Geoff Croker, Principal, fjcstudio (Australia)


Award Categories for 2026

The Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026 will feature four categories:

  1. Industrial

  2. Commercial

  3. Residential

  4. Institutional, Public & Others

The competition is open to built projects in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam that incorporate BlueScope’s steel solutions.
