Our People

My journey began in 2005. I held various roles in the Supply Chain function, including inventory controller, customer service manager, regional supply chain planning manager, and Raw Materials and Production Planning (RM & PP) Manager. Today, I oversee Supply Chain Planning and Sustainability for NS BlueScope Vietnam, a role deeply aligned with our organization’s values and purpose.

We have a ‘try fast fail fast’ culture. For instance, we are continuously looking at ways to manage inventory and our supply chain more effectively by reviewing and removing non-value-added steps in the entire process. With a deep understanding of how we optimize our safety stock level, the tangible outcomes are faster supply lead times, improved deliveries, and enhanced inventory management. These initiatives strengthen both customer and employee experiences, affirming our commitment to bring smart steel solutions to our customers and our communities. We live out Our Purpose across all functions and these initiatives show that the supply chain team is no exception.

In the area of sustainability, we organize forums and events where customers, suppliers and local communities exchange ideas on how we can protect our communities and be more sustainable in our work processes. Specifically for the Responsible Sourcing Program which I am leading, we engage with our suppliers to guide and educate them on uplifting their standards in accordance with our Supplier Code of Conduct. Together, we’ve also embarked on a mission to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with clear roadmap and action plans to work towards significant carbon emission reduction in the next few years.

We are also big on supporting our local communities to create a sustainable future for all. One recent event was the tree planting and donation at Long Hai Town, Vietnam, where suppliers, contractors and local authorities came together to do something good for the environment. This was a meaningful project aimed at bringing greater awareness of the importance of environmental protection, and how businesses and communities can all do our part to build a better and sustainable environment for our communities.

Whenever friends or family ask me what keeps me motivated and engaged working at NS BlueScope, my answer is always the same, and that is I am working for a responsible company, one that focuses on customers and our communities. This makes me proud to be part of the BlueScope family.

With the opportunity given to me to lead the Responsible Sourcing Program, I feel I am making a difference in our communities and making significant progress for the business and the steel industry.
